The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The influential game designer lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
