Shock as Renowned South African DJ Killed in Johannesburg.
A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, sending shockwaves across a nation grappling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the 40-year-old media personality was accosted by a trio of assailants, with one opened fire on him before running away.
The purpose behind the shooting has not been established and no arrests have been made, according to authorities.

Law enforcement said that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a building in the vicinity of the city center landmark.

"The report indicates the victim was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before escaping on foot," a police statement stated.

The DJ sought to escape after he was wounded but succumbed to his injuries a short distance away.
Police added that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the assault.
Key evidence, like cartridges, were recovered from the location.
