Far-Right Former Congressman J.A. Kast Elected as Chile Incoming Head of State.
After a definitive runoff election, hardline candidate José Antonio Kast has clinched the presidential office in Chile.
A Resounding Victory
After more than 99% of ballots counted, Kast secured 58.17% of the votes, defeating leftist contender Jeannette Jara, who earned 41.83%.
This signifies Kast's third presidency, having previously been beaten by the incumbent president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 runoff.
