Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
